I have a problem with a 2002 ford ka 1.3 endura-e engine. It idles at about 2k rpm and sounds like it's only running on 3 cylinders. When I pulled the ht leads off 1 at a time all but cylinder 3 caused a drop in revs. So I swapped the plugs around but the problem stayed with pot 3, so it's not the plugs. Google then told me that the coil packs are made of cheese so I got a new one as they are only cheap. Today I fitted said new coil pack, and it's made sod all difference at all. I then thought I haven't considered the ht leads themselves so I swapped 2 of them around (at both ends obviously) but again it stayed with pot 3.
So as it stands the plugs are good, as are the leads and the coil pack is new so the ignition system is ok. I then turned to the compression side of things, but all have around the same with 3 and 4 having slightly higher compression but not by much, so that's all ok.
Then I turned to the injectors (only thing left really lol). I did the same test as I did with the leads, disconnecting 1 injector at a time and again with number 3 injector disconnected the revs stayed high (no difference actually). So I thought aha blocked injector, so to see if it blocked I disconnected all but injector 3 and turned the key expecting nothing. But when I let go of the key it continued to run. I couldn't believe it, when everything else had told me it wasn't running on pot 3, now it is only running on pot 3 with all 4 plugs still in so it's fighting compression as well, it even revved alittle (engine speed increasing very slowly mind you). So I did the same test on the other 3 injectors and they all ran ok, BUT the other 3 did idle slightly higher then number 3. So would this be a blocked injector, a faulty injector or time to smash the fcuking thing to bits?
