Frontera vs range roverBought a p38 2.5 dse last week. Bitterly disappointed everything has broken in the 5 days iv had it central locking, fuel leak, cruise control, overheating, map sensor, in tank pump, drivers electric mirror and window. This is without a doubt the worst vehicle iv ever owned and people knock frontys? Lol! The fronty drives better believe it or not far more DIY friendly and even tho mines only the x20se motor its far quicker than the rangy! I believe the rangys prob better off road but I'd trust my fronty to not break down every 2 miles in the wilderness! Only other 4x4 iv owned was a pajero also unreliable with crap handling. Bottom line is yes frontys have their faults but for what you pay and what you get for very little money cant complain very underrated cars I believe. Don't learn the hard way like I did! I'm lucky I still have my fronty
Re: Frontera vs range roverWhen I first showed an interest in owning a 4x4, advice given to me was to avoid the green ovals, they were money pits, even if you were lucky to only be paying for routine servicing let alone breakdowns and failures.
I waited patiently and bought a Fronty instead. Kodiak Transglobe 2.0 SWB
Bricks are the knowledge you are taught, the cement is the experience you gain that holds them together.
Re: Frontera vs range roverYep very true! Only green oval I'd have is a defender if it had a galvo chassis that is.
Re: Frontera vs range roverHow predictable the range rovers threw it's toys out of the pram yet again with bad cold starting! It's going on the bay of e under spares or repairs. What a piece of stool lol!
Re: Frontera vs range roverBeen there, great when it was going but most of the time it wasn't, would I have another P38, probably cos I do like them but it would be a V8 on LPG not the diesel.
Soon to be without a Frontera after 10 years of owning one
