I had hassles with them a couple of years ago.
Bought a set of grizzleys and wheels specifically for my fj60 landcruiser.
I was in hospital and my mate took delivery for me.
As a surprise when I got out he put the wheels on the fj.
I came home and well pleased.
Week later, feeling a bit better, took fj down the shop. Was reluctant to move at first but had been standing for 3 weeks and had taken it swimming last time out.
4litre grunt got it moving but when I went to stop 25yds down the road I had no brakes. Parked in a neighbours garden, and reflected on the situation.
The retards at Bronco had supplied wheels for a hilux, wrong offset for fj60 with 4pots. My mate didnt have the keys for the fj when he swapped the wheels so didnt move it and didnt realise, as it was parked in gear, that the wheels they supplied had been clamped onto the front calipers!
Basically the binding resistance I had felt pulling away was me shearing off the front brake calipers!
Cost...£600 wheels and tyres.....2 new calipers £150each+brake lines +8ft of picket fence + 1 small fir tree.
I told bronco, who were a total waste of time, telling me I needed "shimmies". I told them I wanted the right wheels for my truck, they insisted that shimmies would be fine. They sent out 2 6mm spacers which when fitted meant the wheel nuts only had 3 complete turns on them. I told them this was wrong -they disagreed. ( nearly 3tonne of fj that regularly gets airbourne on 3 turns on the nuts-i dont think so)
Eventually after many letters, trading standards etc finally got £50 compensation out of them.whoopie...(not)
Bought proper set of spacers for all 4 wheels from elsewhere.
Would I deal with bronco again...nah.... I would sooner ride bareback whilst naked on a giant hedgehog!
Bronco were just lucky that I live so far from them at the time or the wheels and tyres would have been returned through their window (burning) when they didnt bother returning my calls for the 12th time....ignorant and clearly with no knowledge of wheels tyres and safety.
