Frontera queries

Postby Galahad on Thu Sep 20, 2012 12:14 am

Bought a 2.5 VM Transglobe LWB Frontera A today, its a bit rough around the edges, but its been bought as a tow car, and that it does very well.

I have a few questions.

1). Fuel gauge doesn't work, been told this is a common problem. Do I REALLY have to drop the entire tank down to get to the wiring as i've been told the wiring on top of the tank will be the most likely problem

2). Fronty has a remote plip, very much like the early Vectra plips. Key doesn't appear to be a chipped type. What security if any does this Frontera have? Does the remote plip simply lock the car or does it immobilise it as well?

3). Are the keys chipped?

4). Windows have one touch going down, but don't appear to have it going up. Is this just a Frontera foible? I have a Cavalier GSi 2000 3.0 V6 on a H reg and that has one touch on all windows irrespective of the direction

5). Can I fit the Frontera B bumpers to the Frontera A?

Wanting to tidy this Frontera up a bit, so i'm keen to update the look of her to the Frontera B if possible.

Thanks in advance.
