For me, the reality is priceless How many of us are 'amateur' mechanics that can get our sockets and spanners out and have a go with the benefit of re-laid info from other members that have previously been there and have happily passed back info from their own learning curves. Guess like all of us, apart from the quest of coming up with the 6 numbers, I for one wouldn't be able to have my 'Fronty hobby' if every job carried a garage bill. I'd be counting the thousands of £. What forum life is all about - all made possible by the internet and good will.

This is without doubt the best forum I have ever joined. Had some good buys from members, loads of advice and met some of the gang for spanner parties and days out. The important and easy thing to forget is the time and effort put in by the Admin team who do a great job without being too officious. There must also be various costs to running this and I have no idea how much that is or where they get the money from apart from donations from members, which is why we should all try and make a donation every now and then.

If FOG wasn't around I wouldn't have owned numerous Fronty's and currently be driving a Trooper - Simple as that. The garage bills (or frustration) would have left me wandering away cursing the bloody things. On the flip side I would hope that I have in turn helped people save money on their vehicle repair costs. I'm a big believer in 'what goes around comes around'

Cost is incalculable to me.
I've done alsorts to the 7 fronties i've had, all some form of mechanical or electrical fix, and the majority of info gleaned from here. Only exception over 16 years, well 2 really, was bleeding the fuel through on my 2.2 DTi which i was told couldn't be done. It could, it was easy, and i posted on here somewhere how i did it. Secondly was my electric windows fix because i was on holiday in Cornwall with no net access and had no option but to start stripping the car to find out where the control unit was.
Otherwise i've saved a small fortune, which is partially why im looking for another Fronty in a few weeks. Never let me down in a major way, unlike my 5 Discoveries that always went pop when i least needed them too.

Yep the old Forum has got me out of trouble quite a few times. The good thing about it is ... if you want, you con learn loads before you even have to make a purchase of a Fronty. Are you going to get another 2.2 DTI - Lenny 1969 ???
My Fronty thinks its a grown-up Tonka Toy [how sad is that] ? Concorde with Frontera View Here In the interests of the environment, this posting was constructed entirely from recycled electrons.
