If you own your house outright then renting it out and doing a road trip is really cool.
A few years ago the Shepherdess's cousin who was 52 yrs old bought a bicycle, rented out his flat and rode round the world.
When he got back he had enough in his account to buy a house.
He bought one, rented it out, and got back on his bike.
Currently somewhere in Russia enjoying the hospitality that you get when you are cycling round the world.

think wife would be annoyed having to share a house with strangers never mind the council for renting out there house
