My Freddy...unsure where to start!!!

Hi, i recently bought my first 4x4 and was really excited bout it....and for the first time in a long time was looking forward to being able to going out for a drive no matter what the weather!!!
Anyway...so me and hubby bought this what looked like a fab car.....now we starting to regret it... we feel like we may have been done over...just alittle!!
the person we bought it from didn't know much bout the car and wasn't really helpful...we just gathered he didn't know much bout cars and took him at face value.
It wasn't till we got home and managed to go over the car properly the problems starting to unfold......
apart from the heater matrix knackered....the back window not working...the speedo not working.....the most worring thing is theres this herrific clanging noise...to the extent its embarassing!...this noise is on starting and when driven the noise gets worse...
we think the turbo could be going on it but we are worried bout that its not just the turbo its the bottom chain.....

We have already had a mechanic look at the car and he done a head gasket on it and we had to have the glow plugs heli coiled out and new put in.....

to be honest i'm really worried and unsure where to turn to for advice as other than vx themselfs not many people want to help or know what to do when it comes to this car....we bought this car cause my hubby can no longer get in and out of norm cars as he has badly damaged his back...

Please if theres anyone that can offer me some advice...other than scrapping it i would really appreciate it....thanx so much.

Hi, you are best breaking the faults you have found into sections and post each fault on the relevant part of the forum.

Also your best fill your profile in with area (some one may be local to help) and engine size and Frontera model, we can gain more info then :thumbup:

Chances are good it a B 2.2 diesel with a "turbo" and "chain" I'm not too clued up on the diesels but there are a few geniuses opn here who'll be along soon to give you some help and advice :thumbup:

Thankyou guys.....still trying to work my way round stuff...not very computor literate!!!!!...so please bare with me!....all i know scrapping this car is not an option i want to take as i really need this and may have to end up using this as a form of diabilty car.

Let us know what your car details are ( Petrol, Diesel, Year of reegistration ) and "roughly" where you are in the country and we'll be as helpful and friendly as we can.
