Jeep Cherokee 2.5I was wondering what they are like? I know its the same 2.5 td as the A's have...do they share anything else? I see alot of americans use them for rock crowling ect....so I guess they must be fairly hardly and build well mechanically?? And I guess that also means mods can be got off the shelf? Would that make mods more expensive or cheaper than for our fronties??

Re: Jeep Cherokee 2.5As far as I'm aware engine and that's it son. Injectors can be a bit of a problem also suffer from head and gasket failure. Need the antifreeze changing regular.
It might be slow but i can go anywhere!
Re: Jeep Cherokee 2.5Used to have a 2.5 petrol one until it broke and then it was very expensive for parts, but on the plus side it used to go everywhere with ats on and no other mods, did bottom a few times tho
IF ITS NOT BROKE, YOUR NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH!!

Re: Jeep Cherokee 2.5The 2.5 diesel engine is the same VM one, but some of the externals are different.
For example the belt adjusters are usually the older version with the shock absorber fitted to it. The viscous fan id also different as the front engine cover is different from the Fronty. Just a couple of examples there. Regards, Keith.

Re: Jeep Cherokee 2.5Do Jeeps come with factory fitted diff lockers?
Re: Jeep Cherokee 2.5bery strong robust truck good drive train very roomy only real fault is the vm engine and the 4.0 petrols are easy to work on but are 18ish to the gallon which is a shame and the auto box burns its bands out easyily if the oils not done at the right intervals otherwise id have my 8th one tomorrow
must get it mucky
Re: Jeep Cherokee 2.5Nout wrong with the VM, its a really good engine and powerful.
As with any engine, if you look after them, they'll look after you. Regards, Keith.
