Driving in north yorkshire down a country lane in my astra today, when a truck
going the other way flicked up a pebble smashing the windscreen. Gutted now I'm going to have pay for new screen or excess at the very least.

Re: windsreen smashedwhy thankyou sir steve of drifthshire. Yes Kel, it's a bonded screen in an astra rag top and ste's estimate aint far off.
\you will have an excess of around £70 if yr fully comp, but if you got the name of the company that owns the lorry its always worth giving them a bell and explaining where n when it happened and sometimes, a decent company will help you out with the excess ![]() SIZE DOES MATTER!! Re: windsreen smashedCheers fellas for the advice. I'm fully comp on the astra so will probably just get it done on the insurance, just hope it doesn't hike up the premium next year
- didn't get to see the truck company name either coz it was hammering it down with rain at the time and visability wasn't the greatest. Ramsgate, Kent

Re: windsreen smashedHi Kel..Ooops mate..
It won't affect your no claims discount other than freeze it it for the next year..It happened to me in my fronty and it didn't affect my no claims other than freeze it for one year..Meaning you don't lose anything. Personly i think that sort of thing should be claimable through the county councils because they are in sole charge of maintaining highways just like potholes are..If you damage vehicles on them you can claim against the county council even though we aint supposed to know about it
