Fender Flares ... and many thanks to Gazeddy

Saw these on Eblag. Phoned up and got them reserved. A very kind Gazeddy went to the scrappy and collected them for me. Cheers buddy, your a star. Mate of mine from work was in Manchester and grabbed them for me and I got my hands on them today. Did a trial fit, and I have to say I am well chuffed. Cost was £40 plus a bit for Gazeddy for his troubles.

They are fibreglass and have a few scratches and tiny cracks, but nothing too much. I doubt they are originals, but definitely fit very well, and are a good copy either way. These were only fitted to very limited Irmscher models. Once fitted will give the old girl an extra 4 1/2" width each side ... Kind of make those 31"x10.5 R15 tyres look a bit small now.

Very nice and will give the icy van a butch look

Seriously though they will transform it, I have a few strips of rubber for mine as fed up of mud all over the windows :oops:

Just thought could they be filled with something like expanding foam and sealed with a coating to give them more structure/stiffness to cope with knocks?

Quite probably Drifty, they are hollow. I am seriously thinking of taking moulds and seeing about production. The guys on Planet Isuzu are crying out for these, and pay literally top dollar. At work we get a lot of our parts injection moulded

Agree, need some wheels with a better offset without doubt.

If its any consolation I am going to look into getting them re-produced. If so I will let you know.

At the moment its a toss up between fibreglass ... which would be cheaper, or try and get an idea into how much they would cost to get moulded out of plastic.

As for the wheels, I am going to have to go bigger. As a friend said on ITOC I may well start talking Icelandic:

Both those trucks are on 38's I think.

I would have to measuer the gap between the trees first before i fitted any way :lol:
