Unexpected and Sad Goodbye to my Fronty yesterday

Postby car-nut on Sat Dec 10, 2011 1:21 am

Yesterday unexpectedly and unplanned the Frontera went to a new home, The Frontera was getting too damp inside because of the door not aligning correctly, and a Saab 9-5 2.3 Turbo came up so I did a swap with the Frontera for the Saab.

I WILL eventually get another Frontera.

Although I will not be saying goodbye to the club as the people I have met are fantastic and I will be attending some future meets still.
If I own it, It's either F****D or a 1 off.

Thats a good swap I reckon, saabs are real bargains at the moment, dont know if thats due to saab going I look silly swearing up or cos they are/were a niche car. Is the the low pressure turbo or full fat version? A classic shape 900 convertible will be on my drive one day, or the newer 9-3/late 900.. Any pics??

Totally agree about fronteras, something about them that makes you want another, plus this place being so good too, I will pick another up once the winter is over and the prices return to normal..

Do you think the saab will be on par with your old sport fuel wise?

:=)

Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again...
She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body...
Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer!

It is a 2.3t Low Pressure Turbo Manual. We are getting about 33 mpg combined town and longer journeys. This is based on approx 150 miles so far.

It has a few small electrical faults.

Long Mot Short tax.

Saab 9-5 is amazing.
But not as good as my Omega that is my main car still lol.

The 21 year old I got it from tried to off road it. It had more mud on it than my Frontera did the day I did off roading at the picnic lol.
After being thoroughly jet washed my other half and I went off shopping and came out to find that the car had thick grimey stuff on it still so although it looks a lot cleaner it still needs a lot of elbow grease to make it properly clean again. And the interior stinks of cigarettes.

Sad to say though that the guy who has now got my Frontera will end up killing it or himself. He literally drove straight out in the Fronty after having it off me without sorting out his insurance and took it off roading, (RAGGING IT ROUND A FIELD!). Good luck to him is all I can say.

Here is the pictures of my latest toy and also a few at the end of my Omega too.
