3.1 trooper engine query

Im looking at an advert for a trooper on a R plate it has this issue. Is this an easy fix


It starts with a pull but no control over revs think the turbo seal has blown & it is pulling in engine oil from turbo. A lot of smoke. Good chassis, no holes in bodywork. No buy it now.

Smoke : blue ... black ... white.

Black would suggest over fuelling meaning the turbo isn't spinning as much. Blue is oil which could be the seals going. I would xpect some degree of oil being pulled through the turbo from the breather connecting the rocker chamber and the air intake after the filter. A good thing to check is the vacuum pipe from the intercooler to the top of the fuel pump. This regulates the fuel delivery depending on boost. I will post some pictures of this when I get home tonight. If that is missing the pump won;'t "see" the boost and therefore won't deliver the extra fuel needed to compensate.

If its over reving it is likely to be the turbo but it could also be getting oil into the chambers via the valve oil seals and its actually running on oil, is it hard to switch off ?
Also worth checking the crank case breather is not blocked.
