A few years ago I got a huge bag of nuts and bolts on ebay, they where all various sizes and strengths, I cant remember the seller. As my supply is now drying up/running out I want to replace them. You know what its like you need a good supply of random nuts and bolts for that job where the bolt snaps and its 20.00hs and you need the car working for the next morning So my question is, where can I get a random collection of nuts and bolts? Halfords random ones are all on the small side and I am okay for smaller nuts and bolts.

Ive seen some random assortments of various sizes of nuts and bolts on ebay, sold by weight if i remember correctly. I was put off by the worry that it'd be all odd sizes no one wanted or needed.

Halfrauds nuts n bolts? Good enough to chuck at the cat on the veg patch but for anything remotely more serious, personally I wouldn’t touch em.
Source the nuts n bolts yourself from the scrappies, spanner in hand, that way they will fit and in 99% of the case will be of the right tensile strength. Failing that a proper fixings supplier or engineering supplier that doesn’t look at you like you have two heads and are talking in riddles when asked about tensile strength, thread pitch and if drilling/tapping the hole the size of drill required for the tap, like the 'expert' did at my local halfrauds once!

This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ) Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you....
