OK silly question time

Just been doing the vac pipes and come to look at the front axle and Hmmmmmmmmmm where is it, where's me vsv's where's me actuator who's nicked it

It appear's that I have a totaly clean axle :shock:

and whats more there appear's to have been no sign of anything in the first place on the axle

So the silly question is this on a 1995 VX monteray 3.1 td manual with LSD rear axle and with auto hub's on the front and is lever opperated 4x4 does it HAVE vsv's and actuator :crazy:

i always thought the older ones where on the stick for 4WD drive selection so was operated on the box rather than front axle

Sound like the same system on the Frontera A series, use the stick for 4wd to engage the hubs, to disengage the hubs put the stick in 2wd and reverse a metre or two .

Isn't yours like mine bud and driven by the box when 4WH OR 4WL is selected???

Just to confirm 4WD systems when regarding Troopers:

Mk.I (1981-1991) > Mechanical lever operated ... auto/manual locking hubs.
Mk.II (1992-1995) > Mechanical lever operated ... auto/manual locking hubs.
Mk.III (1996-1998) > Lever operated SOTF ... fixed hubs.
Mk.IV (1999-2002) > Button operated SOTF ... fixed hubs.

I think I have got it right with the exception of the few models with Torque On Demand.

Now the year for year is almost like for like on Montereys.

What you also have to remember is sometimes there are strange things going on on the crossover years as Isuzu either uses up old stock or releases new systems early to bait the market. This was often found with the crossovers between the Mk.II, Mk.III, and Mk.IV

Again I will point out that the Monterey is every nut and bolt an Isuzu Trooper with different badges and Vauxhall alarm/immobaliser. It was built in Tokyo along with all the other troopers. In fact it may of even been destined to be a Trooper at some stage depending on Vauxhalls needs.
