Thought the 2.2 DTi fuel pumps were expensive

Down at my local stealers yesterday and got talking to my mate Chris, the parts man, he was telling me about a fella that had just been in after new seals for a diesel pump. Turns out the computer states that it's a non serviceable part and would mean a new pump. Systems said just over £2,000 for the new diesel pump. Motor involved was 2.8 - and I thought the 2.2 DTi pump was expensive. Shame I didn't see the poor bloke myself, because I could have suggested 'Diesel Bob' or such like or even going on one of the forums (FOG or the Isuzu one) to see if he could pick up a second hand one.

Wow, I replaced the main shaft seal on mine this summer. Got a new one for about 10 pounds inc shipping

The 2.8 pump is serviceable and seals are available and yes Diesel Bob does refurbs on them too

Vauxhall Green Parts would sell a whole pump a dam sight cheaper than the dealers
