(sadly) whats it worth ?

Unfortunately, due to my commute to work being about to change from an 11 mile round trip to a 60 mile round trip, the Fronty looks like its got to go. I am genuinely quite gutted about this, especially as it will be replaced by some farty little granny diesel.

I am going to look at a tiny little dinky toy on Monday, only £1900, and already have told the fella that I am after a px on the Frontera which he was ok about.

I dont want to get ripped off, cos I know he will give me the teeth suck and the 'well, with the price of petrol these days' speech, so what is a fair part ex on mine ?

Its a 2.2 lwb (limited), silver, manual, 94k, mot till Jan, tax till next month, history up to 84k and a pile of receipts including what I have had done (which is next to nothing). Starts first time, every time, no dash board issues, runs as sweet as a nut, all tyres plenty of tread, never been off roaded, body work in excellent nick (couple of stone chips to the bonnet but thats about it), everything works, interior is mint - basically its a great motor.

Like I say, I dont want it to go, but the best part of 3 gallons a day for the commute is just not viable.

What do you chaps reckon..............?

Just about to root around in the bank vault again for this years insurance rip-off and when I used the site with the great opera ads
to check what is on offer they had a comment that my Fronty (same as yours but on a Y plate) was valued at £895 - £1295 by that valuation

like anything, cars are only worth what someone's prepared to pay for it...yours sounds like a good example from your description and if you could hang on till the snow comes would probably make nearly what the new one is, if 4x4 prices follow what they did last year.
The dealer would probably price yours up at £2000-2500 on a forecourt and sell it for 1600-2000 depending on px's and stuff...
Fair enough he's gotta earn a living, and warranty the car, but I wouldn't be wanting to add much £££ to your fronty for his £1900 car.
Bearing in mind he is gonna be earning at the £1900 price already which he would have bumped to allow for PX deal, I would be looking at parting with no more than £500 and your truck on the deal. He also knows that we are getting into the cr4p weather time of year, when he can sell every 4x4 he can lay his hands on.
I would perhaps ask him what the best cash price, with no px is on the other car, then make your call...
If 1700 cash will buy it, yet he wants anymore than £700 and your truck for it, then he is taking the michael.

Cash deal on the new car and selling your truck privately is always gonna the best deal for you, but it all depends if you have the reddies to hand to splash out on the new one up front.
The other option would be if you could borrow a car for a week or so off a mate, in which case sell your truck privately and then go back to the dealer for a cash deal with a wad of folding stuff, using the borrowed car in the interim.

I sold my 2.2 B last week, for just over a grand, it was lower mileage than yours, but it an Sreg so a fair bit older, was a bit knocked about and needed a new heater matrix, so yours should make a fair bit more advertised right if its as good as you say it is.

Thats it then - the Fronty has gone. I am now the proud owner of a Renault Clio Authentique Plus 1.5 diesel ! Wahoo !

Knocked him down to £1700, and he gave me £1100 for the Fronty, so it cost me £600 cash and the motor, so not too bad a deal.
