New car....

As you may be aware I am selling Dave I need a car with 4 doors as I have heaps of kids (well 5) so I have been looking at proper cars.

Buggered if I can find anything I like, nothing seems to "grab" me like the Frontys do so here are some questions

Are the 2.2Dti problematic and weak?
Would the 3.2 v6 be really heavy on fuel not a great fan of lpg though
Is the 2.5tds the best balance of power to fuel economy?

I prefer the A series Facelift truck I think the original A looks old inside and the B looks too girly but at the right price I would have a B series.
So I think I need a LWB 2.5tds. Would this be the best "all rounder" ?

Yes it would mate, but then i'm a bit bias cos i own one.

Great cars if you can find a good, well kept one.

Take our Riflemans truck, he loves that and maintains it meticulously, it sleeps next to him indoors on cold evenings, and even has its own slippers, and tooth brush in the bathroom.

Greg is right, it has been an excellent car that has had little in the way of repairs. This one has been the most expensive and didnt need the amount spent on it that i have spent. I just decided to replace ALL 4 heads instead of the 1 damaged one to be sure of its reliability in the future. :wink:

Were Monterey's built with 7 seater options? We would still have Paul here if he found one wouldn't we :?:

I have a kia 7 seater so thats not the real issue but its easier as a second car if it has rear doors

Thank you for ALL your replies especially Gregs tome I'm not ruling out any Fronty at the moment and I was always told over the years that the 2.8 is the best of the bunch but its finding a good one now
