Re: ANTARA OWNERS??Well People, I got a Chevrolet Captiva LTZ today (Rebadged Antara). Top of the range, full spec, from the insurance while they paint the V6 rear bumper.
Ive taken out the additional insurance £5/day, it now qualifies for zero excess. So me finks that opens things up a bit for a wee play without worrying about scratches ...Dammit 18`s, ah well. Will give it a good "C" ing to & report back over the weekend![]()
Re: ANTARA OWNERS??See comparison to the Kuga as been mentioned in this post. My neighbour bought the Kuga and paid the extra for the 4 wheel drive option - apparently 2WD is standard. He was saying that the 4WD is a Swedish design gizmo that is used by Audi. Seems it works via traction control - no solid rear axle that will put up with off road abuse - only thin CV drive shafts so my thinking is would that mean butter front diffs on both front and back - the joys. Whether that's right who knows.
As with all modern designs, I wouldn't mind betting the same sort of design will be found across all similar vehicles - same bloke, different hat.
Re: ANTARA OWNERS??not very reliable, four visits for software updates and expensive new headlamp looking to sell mine and find a frontera.

Re: ANTARA OWNERS??the kuga is a bodge it and scarper 4wd system. the two and 4 front drive is identical but the rear drive part is a bolt on txfer box sending power to the rear diff. which is completely computer controlled. ok if you getting a bit of rain and maybe some slush but not much use otherwise
it is based very closely on cmax which it shares its front subrame among other things. to give it its increased stance ford have basically used a body lift kit on it to lift the body off the subframes
