To give you an idea, FOG takes around 500,000 lines of code to operate, all of which have to be able to execute in the blink of an eye so as to build the web pages you are looking at without you having to wait for any appreciable amount of time. The code also has to operate with a database that is now so large that it wouldn't fit on a CD-ROM (which is large enough to hold the encyclopaedia britannica), as well as tailoring the output somewhat to your browsers needs.

The long and the short of it is that when something goes wrong, it can take some time to find out what the problem is!
