Oh well it was nice while it lasted

Well i thought i bought another 2.2 petrol lump for my transglobe, last tuesday gave my wifes card details to pay for a used engine, got a phone call the next day to say the payment had been declined, only to find that the garage had entered my wifes card details but used my name against it, my wife has waited in every day since last tuesday waiting for this engine to be delivered waited wednesday no engine, phoned the garage up its in transit was the reply, waited thursday no engine phoned again its in transit came the reply waited friday no engine phone them again, this time got told that our back had declined payment so my wife called the bank got the payment authorized, phoned the garage yes we have recieved payment the engine will be shipped today and you will recieve it monday today, i said to the wife it dosent arrive by 3pm then cancel the order and get a full refund, 3pm arrived and still no engine so wife rang up the garage and demanded a full refund, no problem was the reply we have reinbursed your card, so they havent even shipped it out when they said, the garage asked my wife what was we going to do know, which my wife replied source another engine for it, the guy at the garage said how much will your husband take for his frontera, ill ring back tomorrow to find out, the cheeky git, anyway ive looked on ebay and every 2.2 that is been broken has got engine damage like head gasket etc, so i have decided to moth ball the frontera until i decide what to do with it, in the mean time im going to buy a Mitsubishi pajero and see how i get on with that, so if anyone knows of a cheap engine going anywhere then let me know, or if anyone wants to buy a fairly decent 98 transglobe minus a engine then also let me know cheers Deano

You can't win them all so it looks like you will have to go for the 3.2V6 then. :wink:

1998 was a cross over year ... You a Series A or B. If a Series A have you considered putting in something else more reliable like a 2.8 (or 3.1 as the mountings are the same) More hassle but more reliable in the long run.
