Someone, very recently posted about their 3.2 having the coils feeding cylinders 5 and 6 the wrong way round.
Can't find the post 'cos i'm a numpty.....
(one of the coils is shorter by about 10mm than the other) swapping them round cured his eml light problem.
Well ..... you know I have the Vehicross (same engine) it's been a bit lumpy on idle since I've had it, and yesterday.... the dreaded "check engine" lamp came on. :cry:

Read the code "p0306" - misfire cylinder 6
Checked the coils....... bu***r me! they were the wrong way round!
Swapped them, cleared the code, and all is happy again! :dance:

So, whoever you are.... you're a star sir, and if our paths should ever cross I'll buy you a very large beer!

I remember that post a few days ago and its had me thinking as well. Could anyone confirm which cylinder is number 6 and I'm going to check this on mine as she splutters on start up

Normally Cyl. No.1 is the one at the front, right there when you open the bonnet, :lol:

but sometimes it is the one at the back. :cry:

I've never seen a post that says that one of the Frontera range has an inverse engine. :dance:

I reckon that No.1 is at the front of your motor and that the others are all lined up in numerical order behind it behind it.
I've only got four but they're bigger than yours. :party:

Yeah I'm familiar with that on the 4 cylinders but with the V6 I'm not as familiar. I was thinking it would be on the near side bank closest to the bulkhead. If anyone could confirm this for me that would be great
