A series San diego for my b series rs sports?

just a bit of advice needed please. Im selling my b series 1998 rs sports because i need a four door car. I have been offered an R reg A series san diego thats done a lot more miles. Ive got the speedo problem the A series has a couple of faults:

Sometimes bares to the left when driving (could be tracking?)
Power steering sometimes ' goes stiff' when at traffic lights or idle.
Little rattling noise when engines been on a few mins, but goes off shortly afterwards.

What im asking, do you think its worth the straight swap?

Is the A series also a 2.2?
Power steering requires more power when engine is idling as the steering needs to be lighter when moving slow or stopped. As the engine revs, the power steering is less efficient so as not to be too light when driving.
It could just be low fluid level, or the pump could be dodgy.

Yes the A series is a 2.2 like my rs sports. Sounds daft mate but if you were in my situation needing a four door would you swap a B for an A? Ironically both are same year 1998, the A series being a late R mine an early S. Also its done 109k compared to my 34k but need a four door pretty quick.

I wouldnt do a straight swap.I would sell yours then buy a lwb.Your has less miles and the other one needs work doing to it.I would stay clear m8

Admittedly mine needs a bit of work i think. Certainly the usual speedo problem. Theres a small dent in the rear quarter and an unknown 'noise' from the wheel when reverse turning although doesnt happen all the time. Just trying to weigh up my problems against the A series and if it be worth the swap!

get him to do the jobs on his, and you dont touch yours, he can do them when he gets it, but if your happy then go for it, after all, its only a shape,
