Kind of ups the ante on John Dodd's 27 litre Merlin Rolls Royce Beast of the early seventies.
Though the Beast was road legal.

Trouble with John Dodd's car is that it doesn't look as good or, sadly, sound as good cos the supercharger makes such a racket you can't hear that glorious engine.

And then of course there's the Y2K motorbike which has a gas turbine from a helicopter in it :shock:

Yer the car didnt have fantastic acceleration but it would just keep going to warp speed IF it had the space :lol:

At the end of the ww2, you could buy MTB's for £12...sadly most were burnt on canvey island mud flats because no-one wanted them...

a few still are around and patrol boats and airsea rescue launchs, in Shoreham, and on the medway with sheds on top as houseboats...no engines though, a shame for a beautiful shaped boat...

Me...I would love a ww2 BYMS....my grandfather had a flottila of them during the war, but I would love to make a cruising home out of one...
That french diver fella Jasque Cousteau had one for a while...nice proper boat they are...
Dreaming though...might have to be a decommisioned trawler instead...

Just don't do what that other bloke did and try using a car satnav for navigation. As I recall he ended up circling that there island of yours until he ran out of fuel :lol:

Silly idiot only had about 10 gallons of fuel too....

A couple of years ago the boat below ran aground on the beach just down the bottom here, after getting lost and having engine trouble (the new owner hit a bridge on the medway earlier in the day ripping off the aft radar mast!)
He ran it aground on the steepest part of the beach and sprung the hull planking, then when the lifeboat towed it off next tide it sank, even with 2 pumps running on board, so they beached it again...
It then rode out several more days and tides, which the water 1/2 way up the wheel house windows, and another failed salvage attempt, before a salvage crew arrived with a tug and recovered it...rumour has it that it was then scrapped but I am not sure of that...

Was a lovely boat though...

Lets not even start about the yanks parking the montgomery on a sand bank off minster full of ammo and sinking it!!! :lol:
