Over the weekend media reported drivers were having to pay extra on their premiums for fitting snow tyres, or worse, having cover refused. Insurance obudsman would appear to have stepped in to claim it had just been call-centre staff incorrectly classing such tyres as modifications as the car did not have them fitted originally.
This is a BIG WORRY despite this apparent attempt to calm us. Ins co I am with have small print which terminates cover if I go over my yearly agreed milegae with NO CONCESSIONS, cover ends finnitto!! What if we're using chains etc. How much of a tyre difference are we allowed??? Thoughts of wriggling wormlikes
