Sign's and symptoms of a blocked exhaust

Hi can anyone tell me what the sign's n symptoms of a blocked exhaust are :oops:

The reason being is that the exhaust blew on a joint so just tied it up and drove to work and back home but noticed apart from the noise :oops:

that the engine seemed to breath more easily and the engine more responsive.

I made a repair to the exhaust (it's crimbo time so the boss gave that look of NO your not spending) but what I have noticed is that it does feel hesitant and so I'm just wondering what the sign's
any help or info would be very welcome and some how I don't think she will let me have a new exhaust for crimbo ( unless I can come up with a good argument ) (that she'll win) :cry:

Gosh do I know that look?..... I'm on here but I'm s'posed to be doing the shower room.... theres no chance of a new exhaust before christmas unless you can earn yourself serious brownie points... save the pennies and get a stainless one :shock:

I found a supplier couple of yrs ago year on the internet (forgotten where)and the complete system was about £3oo?? which I thoguht considering it will last for ever was not a bad price.
Sorry I cant help with blocked exhaust thats a puzzling one although I did have problems with a bantam exhaust silencer which was full of carbon....have you checked theres not a banana in the tailpipe(see beverly hills Cop)

depending where your exhaust came adrift, if it was before the cat, the cat coul be naffed, some guys decat there exhaust systems and get a bit more power like you have experianced...........pete

No It came away from the joint after the cat :shock:

there was a slight rasp before it blew but it quite literally blew off on a flat level road when I put me foot down to overtake the poor old chap that I was over taking did'nt know what hit him as I passed :oops:

this is why I'm thinking is it blocked
