Am I doing it right??

Went for my first play in the mud today. I stopped, put in neutral, selected 4h then drove forwards, 4x4 light came on. On my way out I stopped, selected 2wd (after much struggle!!) and reversed back about 3 metres. Is all that correct?
Reason I ask is that the truck felt more responsive on the way home, so wasn't sure if hubs were still locked on? 4x4 light is off tho

How come the truck seemed to be pulling better on way home then? Was very noticeable.

thats a classic, I love my truck driving home after a day in 4wd, as you have been in 4wd all day in lower ratio gears the truck is feeling tight and restricted as the very nature of the lower box 4wd.
Then when you get to the higher revving 2wd on tarmac your car feels like a rocket, its all in the mind :wink:

But never fails to feel good

Atleast now I know I haven't broke it then! Lol... I spend most my days in a digger, so know what you mean! God knows what it's gonna be like when I get back into my astra turbo then, that got 390bhp!!! Gonna be like a fighter jet. Lol

I know I'm straying off topic a bit - but after playing in the mud down the woods, I love the sound of large lumps of mud being thrown from out of the tyre treads up under the rear wheel arches as I accelerate up the lane when leaving the farm entrance.

Lol, again as it was my first time I thought for a moment something was falling off the car, exhaust or something! Lol. :oops:

he left Bala a couple of years ago to go home, he was back in ten minutes thinking he had buckled a wheel, the mud had dried on his wheels and through the balance out and he thought half the suspension and steering was falling off :lol:

A few swift kicks at clumps of mud on his wheels, I told him to go, he didnt look convinced, but I was right :lol:
