Am so annoyed with this firm :evil:

everytime i go in for bits for my any of my trucks they feel the need to take the ** * * in that fronties are not worth the time or trouble and should be scrapped then last week they give me the wrong section of exhaust after insisting it was the right one and that i was wrong, then on friday they tell me i can have 2 ball joints (1 upper and 1 lower) for 21 inc VAT each i thought great i'll get them on monday, so today went in to get them only to be told by the boss that they are now £65 plus the VAT for the pair :evil:

so i asked how is that possible?? he said that i was told that the ones i had been quoted for are for a different chassis and that my chassis was totally different :shock:

i told him not to talk crap he asked what was my authority to tell him he was wrong?? i told him i was in the owners group and that to be honest i had a damn sight more knowledge about parts for fronties than he did, needless to say he soon shut up told him to shove the parts up his :butt:

i'll go elsewhere, so took a trip up the road to motorquip and got the joints for £18 each inc VAT so to be honest i shall not be using General Traffic anymore i wouldn't touch them with a bargepole

To be honest cannot say they actual have much wrong with them its us the owners that are always wanting to fix stuff my runs fine no issues yet i keep buying stuff to improve it. Your quite right better of not dealing with idiots there is a we car spare near me he quite friendly i never use him as much as i should though, he is cheap an also a mechanic will fit the parts so you know your getting proper advice an not any crap

I've had that "Frontera? Aren't they a bit rubbish?" before off people. I usually ask them if they've ever owned one or driven/seen one in action off road and when they say no I suggest they try one and make up thier own mind.

Ive not heard of General Trafffic but have heard of Motoquip.£18 seems a very good price, thanks for this post.
As yet I havent had anybody come out with any "its not worth fixing is it" quips.
I do get a stoney silence off a friend whenever I mention my frontera.He has landrovers and cant seem to understand that there are other 4x4's in the world so I do wind him up a bit. I did once get a snide comment off a landrover specialist about" someones got to have one"but that was only friendly banter. I like landrovers anyway as well.
I'm astonished that a parts place would say anything at all,after all you are giving them business. :shock:

To be fair they didnt start off with a good reputation. When my mum and dad had their first one they where very hesistant because of the stories they had heard but were more than pleased with it. There is a bad apple amongst them all. To actually appreciate them you need to drive one and have experianced one to truly make your mind up.

Im quite lucky round here with the fact we have quite a few decent motor factors and with my brother being in the motor trade gets stuff cheap and if a part is wrong they believe you if you appear to know what your on about.
