Vehicle Stolen (Midlands) 09/05/2010

I'm posting the following on behalf of my Sisters neighbour Jon, who also happens to be a GLASS member:

The following vehicle was stolen from a driveway in Barnt Green on the night of Sun 09/05/2010

Jon writes:

1998 Defender 110 300TDi Hardtop, reg R844 RTH. Alpine white, rear door blue inside as it has been resprayed. home made cubby box with Cd changer and CB radio fitted to dash. Safety Devices basket roofrack and Xenon headlamp conversion. Reverse light lens broken, missing bolt in front bumper, N/S rear crossmember handle removed. home made map shelf above load space.

My Sister adds:

Not sure why this has been knicked - its normally on his drive with Jon underneath it! It's his pride and joy

Have they tried contacting the AA, RAC and GreenFlag....its been a couple of days since it went missing, they are bound to have seen it by now!! :lol:

Seriously though...its bad news when fellow 4x4 owners get their motors swiped...sadly its probably in bits on ebay already, or been flopped onto another ID, they aint difficult landrovers, most have the vin missing off the frame as they rot out on the front chassis legs so get legitimately plated up all the time...

Gotta say I agree with Gregster. It's prolly gone for parts cos they make more money with less risk that way. I'll keep an eye out on my travels though, cos you never know

Sadly, I agree, or it's already been shipped abroad.

Even so, it's worth a try, even if it makes others consider the security of their own vehicles.
