thank you A friend for that. i'l try and chase up vaux_2 and his remapping. it would be good to have it done properly insted of what most of the "specialists" do, and just "professionally" fit a box for you. not what i want at all. do all fronties have the same trans cases and rear diffs? (i mean all B's, accross the engine range and trim levels?) i'd emagin the gear boxes would be different but not sure about the rest of the gear. someone on ebay sold there v6 frontie B for just £500 and all it needed was a new ABS sensor and proberly just a oil change (the oil light flashed on for a "spilt second") only had done 90k. at the price i could sell the golf, buy that and mod the f#$k out of it and turn it into a true beast! shame all the dti's are over the 2k mark. How good are the diesels for miles? can they go into the 200ks easy or do they tend to drop off in the 100ks? just so i know what to shop for as and when. good to know that its that easy to see if it has a LSD. will be looking out for that too. how to the pumps work? are the run off the aux belt, timing chain or electric? and does anyone know what the output presures are like? i dont have a frontie yet so i cant easyerly find out for my self. so sorry for always asking questions. i feel like a leeeech! 1 final thing, why are the engines lables as "high output"? what does it meen? ive head it means the power is high in the rev range (making sence because there is also a "low output" letter) but y would that be? means you have to thrash it to get at the power. many thanks Dan

shaun69 had his dti remapped to 145bhp and it flew, also gave him more mpg. The place he had it done has now bit the dust with the credit crunch so cant help you there. As for the diffs, the dti's have different ratios. Mileagewise, Gareth's dti has 500,000 on the same engine so if looked after they will keep going The pump sits on the side of the engine and is controled by the ecu (the y22dth has its own ecu)

thank you both for the info!! greatly appreciated!! Im really shocked that Gareth's frontera has done so well!!! it is a B right? Im a photographer as well....hows about that eh! lol yeah them A4 TDi's are very nice. audi's version of the passat Im still toying with the idea of getting a cheap frontie as a weekend and holiday car. and keeping my golf as my main car. I mite even (for a wile anyways) get away with 1 insurance policy, just keep swaping the details over at weekends for P&P days or FOG meets ect. or would i end up getting done for a insurance scam? as im only 20, on both cars its around the £800 mark for insurance atm. so dont really want to spend all that extra money on insurance for a car im only going to use for like 40 days in the year. I like that idea because it means i get the "run-a-round" golf with great MPG, and a off roader that doesnt really matter if it slips into a tree (like what happened to someone on the 27th, i think it was, i watched the vid of youtube recently anyways) just have to convince my gran to alow me to store it on the drive when we move house thanks again for all your input (everyone that is)!! has really helped in my home work. I think tomorrow night i might even get around to posting a welcome/hello post! haha tra! Dan
