Not a recall. Just a note for vehicles under warranty if a customer complains fit the redesigned matrix.

It may mean there were some quality issues with some of the original fitments (nothing dangerous) or it wasnt entirely suitable for its intended application.

ah well fair enough you dont ask you dont know if i have the original what are the intake and outlet pipes made of and what are the risks of removal??

From what I can gather the redesigned ones have a plastic sleeve over the inlet and outlet pipes which are visible from inside the car. Check by looking under the dash at the heater matrix. Its just under and to the right of the glove box.
