think ive goosed sids engine

been getting irattic temps at speeds but calms down when not being pushed
changed water but still temp likes to rise more than usuall

Sounds like either water pump or radiator, this happened both times on mine :wink:

Your rad wont need to leak to cause this, just abused off road as I know you do, :wink:

Still worth swapping out the rad to check, also look above the water pump and see if its leaking, mine was but wasnt dripping to the ground seemed to cause a lack of pressure, you may see a small damp patch above the pump but thats nothing to worry about.

Are you loosing coolant?

Check expansion bottle hasnt cracked around the top.

Is the clutch ok on the viscous fan?

when i swapped coolent didnt seem to be much that came out if im honest dont no wot litreage shud be but not much feel onto the floor

Bottom part of Nancy`ss rad was clogged with mud,Neil hosed it out & has been fine since :wink:

As for your original post,not a clue bud

Coolant capacity for 2.8 TDI is 8.8 litres :wink:

Unless you empty the rad and flush the engine and matrix most water will stay in them just whats in the pipe will come out, the water will settle to the lowest points in the system its quite hard to get it all out.

Only other cheap fix is the thermostat playing up.

only thing i can do is keep eye on it for now check coolent level and fan clutch
