The reason you cant get buses at silly oclock is that since deregulation in 1986 the bus companies have been privatised, this means each route they run has to be commecially viable or it is stopped.
You cant run any route at a loss or they would go bankrupt as any shop that sell stuff know one wants would go bankrupt, basically not enough people get the buses at those times to make it viable to run.
Contrary to public belief bus companies outside London do not get subsidies from the Local or central Government for 90% of the routes they run.
The routes that do get subsidised are constantly being cut in local council budget cuts as its those travel authorities that give out the tenders for the subsidised routes.
The national Government have very little to do with bus companies outside London and nothing to do with local bus service subsidies.
So all this get out of your car and get the bus is a load of tosh as Central Government are doing sod all to help bus companies and the general public to build on less profitable routes and times.
So there you have it from the horsed mouth, as its my job
