novel idea, not sure i'll be trying it though...Was talking to an old mate of mine today, mentioned my noisy diff and the planned fluid change.

Re: novel idea, not sure i'll be trying it though...Sounds a bit like the old trick of putting sawdust into the gearbox to quieten it down for a while. Old used car salesman trick.
Doubt it would work with a modern syncromesh gearbox but I dont see why it wouldnt work in a diff, essentially all you are doing is putting something between the teeth to take up some of the play. bear in mind though that it wont help the bearings if they are shot.
Re: novel idea, not sure i'll be trying it though...if its wearing stockings it might make the rsend wiggle a bit
Re: novel idea, not sure i'll be trying it though...Would just like to say this does work but thay have to be silk and cut up small so that it doesnt get tangled up tried this on my discovery lasted untill next oil change

Re: novel idea, not sure i'll be trying it though...Sounds to me like the diff is going to need fixing sooner or later anyway. Wouldn't it be better to do it sooner rather than risk further damage and therefore further expense?
