How easy is it to disconnect the speedo cable, and where does it get it's drive from?
I presume it's the gear box, but I had a volvo once and that was from one of the wheels, or is it easier to disconnect from the speedo it's self.

Presumably you intend to continue using the car,if so you would be advsed to get a blanking plug made to prevent dirt/mud getting into the gearbox
