found my knocking

for mounths now every time i went round a corner i had a dull thud and i've spent ages trying to find it. well found it the two bolts arrowed were loose allowing the cross member to move.

This is an impressive piece of detective work.Thanks for posting this, mine has all sorts of unexplained noises,cracks and thuds not always consistent and never to be found when the thing is stationary and wobbled fiercely by hand. and this is something I can check.

to be honest i thought it was my exhaust knocking as i shuffled under the truck i put my hand on it and it moved.

just the small hole in the footwell to do now and all the big jobs are done

Worth sorting, but not the end of the world, some of the Americans have removed the crossmember completely and the car hasnt fallen apart.

with my luck the last week wouldnt be a surprise . will have to see which weekends free to have a poke at the footwells
