Not a fronty but a vectra ecotech

Recently I changed an alternator for a friends 1.8 vectra ( ecotech engine same as 2.2 16v) R reg

The car was running before but now won't start.

I didn't start the job, just refited an alternator.

There is a spark at each plug, fuel comes out of a bleed nipple on the manifold.

It just turns over, no attempt to fire.

I'm thinking may be the injectors, if I've knocked a plug out or loose wire (it was tight to get in). Is there a way to check if the injectors are getting power?

The other thought was immobaliser, I have a spark and fuel?

Any other thoughts.

Wiring harness for the injectors perhaps? although the plugs on these things are usually pretty robust with clips securing them together. Is it possible to remove an injector and see if it sprays fuel while turning the engine over?

Common sense says it would have to be something that affects all cylinders or you would at least get an attempt to fire. If the battery was disconnected that MAY have had an affect on the immobiliser but I doubt it.

Earth strap to the head?

As you are getting a spark and fuel, it deffinately isn't your immobiliser, as it would stop one or both of these.

At least the immobiliser is ok.

It was in december when I started it so I may have dissconnected the injector to get the alternator in ( very tight fit!)

Will have another look this weekend, fingers crossed.
