due to a recent operation i am unable to use the frontera for a while so my wife has been using it now and again to give it a run out
only problem is her car is petrol , twice (that i know of ) she has nearly put petrol in i have been looking around on tintnet for miss fueling prevention device found one on RAC website for £18 do they work or and are they any good (ps my wife will buy one if they do)

It would be a lot cheaper to just put a diesel sticker on or inside the filler flap.

There are light sensitive gadgets you can get which go on the inside of the fuel flap and when its opened they sense the light and activate with a verbal warning such as "This is a diesel car, only fill with diesel" or something similar.
