A mate of mine is welding my sill based air conditioning and said something that got me thinking....

"No tow bar, where's your tow bar.... all frontera's where fitted with tow bars..."

Towbars were an optional extra.

As far as I know if you asked for one when you ordered it it was a removable swan neck affair. Aftermarket jobs are usually a fixed bar (projecting outwards) with a plate to which you bolt a tow ball or ball and jaw widget.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!
