opinions needed!!!!

Seen two models i kinda like the look of but wondered if members could help me with the pros and cons and anything useful to know about them?

Thats a lot of dough for an S plate 2.5 , keep shopping around and you will save at least 1/3 I would say under a grand is your target.

pro's and cons....

2.5 is very powerful, only beat by the V6.
Its a diesel and easier to kit for wading than a petrol
its very reliable.
Most 2.5 owners are as protective about 2.5's as 2.8 owners are of 2.8's

its a special engine, specialist tools required for some of the servicing etc.
it has an ecu where the 2.8 doesnt so the electrics are falable to water.
its a turbo diesel and hungry for air, without precautions it can suck water in the intake when wadding

I'm a 2.8 man and been tempted by the 2.5 crowd, but beaten it off so far.

Query...... the transglobe model, much difference with that and a normal 2.5? Are 2.5's really that bad with electrics? A lot of research suggests that a 2.5 is better on fuel than 2.2? I think a diesel is definitely what i'm after, always chose diesel over the years.

the 2.4 link you supplied is way over priced and they are thirsty buggers. for 2 grand you could get a B series 2.2dti
