If you read the topic below this one "3.2 engine management light came on" viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23933 there is a link to the one I bought and some others that other members have used. My one claims to be compatible back to 1996. If you contact the vendor he will be able to confirm if the unit will work on a 97.

cheers andy,seen one on ebay for £30 inc postage
have emailed seller to see if its ok for mine even
though it says its compatible for fronteras from
96 onwards cheers ash.
