rear parking sensor

hi all i have a b frontera with the hard plastic cover on the spare tyre i have been given a set of sensor i would like to put on but worried that the rear plastic cover will affect them.
has anybody tried them on the b sieres i saw on here that some one fitted them but think it was a frontera a sieres done a search but cant find the info. dont want to drill bumper only for them not to work.

It might be difficult to route the wires to the spare wheel cover, and what happens when you need to change the spare - or even open the door. Also, is the spare wheel cover too high for the reversing sensors.

will give info when its done its a kopel with a wireless digital display i have to wire into the fuse box i dont no when i will be doing it but will be straighting rear plastic bumper aswell when i reversed into a telegrath pole thanks again for all your help

sorry its not the fuse box it says connect brown positive wire to accessory power wire then ground it with the black wire the digital display is then wireless to the black box

have some on my frontera b got it from jml £29.99 wired it up to reverse lights stuck sensors to bumper with adhesive pads provided but have to take into account towbar, has paid for itself esp when wife uses it.

Mine came from Maplin and I used all 4 sensors, they didn't get affected by the spare either, even with a 33" spare bolted to the rear carrier :wink:

Mentioned this in previous posts, if you do any towing, fit an isolator switch so you can turn them off, they are a PITA when reversing with a trailer attached :lol:

I too have fitted reversing sensors on my 2000 LWB B, The Spare doent interfere with the sensors, BUT you have to remember the 0.4m = 0 when taking into account the spare.

I have the digi display on the dash with the wire running down the square hole on the top, and have a 3 way 12v + 1 USB cigar lighter extension behind the dash with digi display, Bluetooth GPS, and GPS & another 3 way cigar lighter extension mounted on the console by the pass footwell to power phone ect ect

Location location location, the only risk is mud obscuring the sensor.
In reality they work well even in p&p environments… BUT.
Like anything else its just a tool to assist YOU.
Even communication from an experienced banksman can fall foul from time to time.
Make your self aware of your vehicle size and the situation its in at all times.

I personally feel that all cars Yakatar should be fitted with them, I would have them fitted on the front of the car too :oops:

I have never liked parking in between cars, I remember a few years ago a friend of mine, got me to park between 2 cars and they just happen to be a brand new 'Bentley' and a Brand new Jaguar :roll:

I can tell you ... only myself and my laundry person knew how nervous I really was at parking :wink:
