Re: engine managment light staying onThe best is the TECH 2 but damn expensive. Any OBDii reader should read the codes though. Handy to get one that is USB connectable to a lappy then get the VX software to diagnose from the codes

Re: engine managment light staying onWhat have I told you about Thinking Erroll??
Re: engine managment light staying onEngine Management lights? As long as everything is running ok I've learned to ignore them. I just drain the memory now and then by disconnecting the battery on our 2001 Astra (make sure you have your radio code). It always passes the MOT. Been like that since we bought it nearly 5 years ago. I even serviced my father in law's Nissan Micra last summer - what happened? start her up and the light stayed on. Disconnected the battery. Nothing since. The old Frontera has never had any problems apart from warming her up too quickly on minus zero mornings. Then the light comes on. Just switch off the engine and start her up again. Light goes out.
Engine management lights were invented by the motor trade I believe to frighten people and extort large quantities of cash from them Now what am I doing on a car forum on Christmas Eve I ask myself? All the best. Tone. 1996 2.0 Sport - owned since October 1998.
