Forum updates

you may have noticed by now the forum as gone though a few changes can we please have some feed back as to what you think about the changes

Its nice to have a this new landing page from the www.fronteraowners.co.uk, just need to make the forum links a larger and more noticeable element.

yeah and i am loving FOG t,v well done to all involved

speaking from a personal note, "How to's" on:

2.2 diesel 99>
Changing diesel leak off pipes
Changing fuel filter
Bleeding fuel system
Changing CHG

I'll have a trawl for the threads on how to do the dash solder thingy and the heated wing mirror mod and the cruise control conversion

":D well i decided to bite the bullet and do the solder fix

now as i said i am mr thicko when it comes to stuff like this :lol:

1. i took out the 4 screws that hold in the facia ....... 2 by the speedo cocks on the underside of the dash ......... and 1 either side of the steering wheel behind the lower trim

2. once the facia is off the speedo cluster is held in by 4 screws you can then pull the speedo out a bit so you can disconnect the 3 cables

3. once you have the unit out you can remove the black panel that surrounds the speedo which also holds the perpex cover

4. then its onto the needles at first it seems the little buggers dont want to come off but a bit of prising with my fingers and a bit of :evil:

and they came off luckily without taking the pins with them

5. now you can peel off the speedo black cover

6.i then removed the clear plastic cover this just pops off

7. now prise the board out by pushing back the little clips and there was 1 torx screw to take out .... also if you turn the thing over you will see in the corner a little square that a bit of the membrane goes into and there are a couple of bits of metal to bend back and now the board will pop out

8. i had a look with a magnifying glass and couldnt see anything wrong except at the top of the board the ten connecters looked at bit dodgy so i ran my solder over them ............. i didnt bother with anywhere else as it all looked a bit scarey :lol:

9. fitted it all back in and ...............................

cruise control conversion is just plug and play, so not needed

The dashboard fix is already on there (under known problems)
