Identification of Safety compound

Does any one know what this is, I think its some form of thread lock.
I acquired it a while ago.

The GM number on it is G.8768

This is my guess: Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, disodium salt, dihydrate

I wondered if it was the glue used to fix rear view mirrors or phone areials to the glass, but the tube looks a little too big for that.

Just a guess.

Hmm, this is mobile phone arial mount glue:





also known as "Silicone Sealant" (as written on the side of the tube)

Goodness knows what your stuff is - I did a Google for G.8768 to find my earlier answer.

I googled it and it was german or something

With out opening the tube I can tell its quite fluid and pink in colour

Sod it I unscrewed it and yes its pink but slightly gooey.
Cant describe the smell but its not strong.

I've had another thought - is it the glue used to fix the split CV gaiters ?

90542117 - the number on the tube, googles as opel locking compound. That and the word securite in the french bit, and i'd go with threadlock too.

if it is thread lock , give it to lawrence to use so his wheel nuts dont fall off .
