In that case Kev you are actually only uising the car like most o9f us just to get to work so you neednt have it on a works policy.

I some times take work home in my car and back to work a few days later, granted its in a little folder but the principle is the same.

I am presuming that Kev is self employed & this is where the crux of the problem lies.Drift normal policy will cover to & from your regular place of work,mine is covered for use on my employers business & for my own business.

I'm self employed and I just have a normal policy and by the sound of it mine gets used alot more throughout the day. If I drop a tree on my car I haven't used it for work purposes as it is parked up at my place of work. If I were to pull a tree over with it which crushed the car then that would be different, but obviously I wouldn't do that :Liar:

this got me thinking so i dug out my policy and it says social domestic and pleasure but excludes commuting :oops:

i should have looked before good job iam of work with my knee at the mo i better get that changed

mine is a strange one, i do have s,d,p,& commuting to a place of regular work, but it is not a works car park its a private car park, but i still had to have the commuting put on, but its a private one,

yes , im self employed , and thats the problem , but i dont get how theres been a policy to cover me for 2 years, ive never made a claim , the only time they hear from me is to pay my renewal . and then they discontinue it ...
this commuting is a rum one, back in the late 80'/early 90's when i had a real job i drove 50 miles a day to and from work(for 7 yrs) but had bog standard insurance , no commuting specified ....and even before that i used my vespa to go to work on in my town so that'll be commuting , wonder if i should have had special insurance for commuting to the local tech colledge once a week as well , grrrrrrrr :evil:

Your going to need special insurance just to drive your car the way things are going, all excuses to hike prices and wriggle out of paying claims. :evil:

Its not that hard, but you need a shed load of capital to get going and an underwriter.

My company are self insured for the first £150k per claim just to keep legal insurance policies down.

question , its been a while since i could here my turbo , but since i used the comma diesel magic i can here a faint whine , the noise doesn't sound at all bad , and the cars definetly more responsive , is this whine normal ???

As loong as there is no oil coming from the turbo and the vains are not loose and no excessive smoke all should be ok
