...so I bought another Fronty!. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0272735858Picked it up this morning and it doesn't seem to bad. A few rust scabs here and there, a bit of dent on one rear corner but seems to run fine. The only odd thing is I was getting a lot of wind noise as if I was carrying stuff on the roof, a hell of a lot noiser than my other 2.8, but the engine was a lot quieter so I guess it averages out Regards TFB

Makes sense to get a whole new car for the same price of a new turbo. Pretty much any secondhand turbo unit will have the start of play in the bearings anyway.

The replacement turbo turned up this morning and it's taken most of the day to get it fitted. Horredous oily clouds on start up, but I suspect that was due to oil everywhere from the oil turbo. I took it out for a 10mile run and by the time I had got back no smoke at all from the exhaust!.
I'll change the oil and filter this evening and then tomorrow take it to works (180 mile round trip) and see how it behaves.
As to what to do with 2 Fronteras now I'm not too sure. The new black one looks better than the old green, has less milage but I haven't driven it far yet. I will have to get rid of one though. I'm think I'll swap some bits from the old green (bulbars etc.)to the new black and then get rid of the green. Are you interested in it andysd1?. The green does have nearly a years MOT on it and new front discs and pads but I know it needs rear pads and the near side front caliper piston is sticking a bit. I thought the caliper was just sticking on the slider pins but I cleaned them up and the wheel is still stiff to rotate by hand after applying the brakes.
Regards

Will pass then. 400 mile round trip, with 2 cars. By the time Iv paid for fuel it will negate any savings in the purchase price. Im still kinda on the look out for one local tho.
