Right just gone out to start the fronty 2.3 tdi and it wont start tryed to jump start thinking the battery was dead but still wont start/turn over when u turn the ignition off the glow plug light and the hand brake light stay on and wen u turn the it on the only thing that lights up are the glow plug and hand brake light please help

just cgecked the earth strap seemed ok untill i i pulled it and yes it broke so i have used an old jump lead and it now starts

i had that problem with trusty rusty i used a jump lead on the earth side of battery to a clean part of the engine,and hey presto it started :wink:
