just had some bad news

me best mates sun, who i have known since he was a nipper now 22, has to have one of his testes removed due to cancer,
makes you think, and just a thought, if you dont mind, how many of you lads check your selves, and getting the wife's and girlfriends to check dont count

i keep an eye on em,tis always best

On a bright note, a friend had the same. Got them removed, implants to help cosmetically, drugs to keep him a man and you wouldnt know. i bet its a good 8-10 years ago, so there is a bit of hope.

joking aside guys you should realy check yourselves out and not just looking you need to feel them too you might feel a fool but its better than finding things when it is to late so be brave guys and get them out, us woman do and your just as important as us, happy looking

In medicine, doctors often use the term "granuloma" loosely to mean "a small nodule" (usually a pea-sized lump). Since a small nodule can represent anything from a harmless mole to a malignant tumour, this usage of the term is not very specific. The true use of the term "granuloma" requires a pathologist (a doctor who specializes in examining tissue under a microscope) to examine surgically removed and specially colored (stained) tissue microscopically. Under the microscope, a granuloma is a really tiny nodule made up of special cells that try to destroy, or at least wall off, toxic foreign substances that are resistant to destruction.

How to check your testicles

Check your testicles monthly in the following manner:
do the self-examination lying in a warm bath or while having a long shower, as this softens the skin of the scrotum (skin sac that holds the testicles), which makes it easier to feel the testicles inside.
examine the scrotum, looking for any lumps on the skin or swellings inside.
cradle the whole scrotum and testicles in the palm of your hand and feel the difference between the testicles. One is almost always larger and lying lower. This is completely normal.
examine each testicle in turn, and then compare them with each other. Use both hands and gently roll each testicle between thumb and forefinger.
Check for any lumps or swellings as both testicles should be smooth except where the duct that carries sperm to the penis, the epididymis, runs. This lies along the top and back of the testicle and normally feels bumpy

Running in the same vein my best friend had a testicle removed recently due to a large lump appearing. Thankfully it was benign and he has an artificial one in its place now. He still has to go for checkups every 6 months or so for a year or two but its always better to be safe then sorry.

Too many references to the word scrotum, I'm doing a Beavis and Butthead :lol:
