More Problems.

Well, Set off on the A1 on Saturday morning heading South. Get about 20 miles in and there's this horrific knocking sound from the engine. Pull over, manifold is glowing red. Have a listen and it sounds like something is hitting the inside of the rocker cover. I think it's a cracked Camshaft (wonderful).

So I sit at the side of the A1(M) on the grass verge for 90 mins. It's 7 am so i'm bloody freesing by the time the recovery turns up. Unfortunately due to it being dark when I pulled onto the hard shoulder I left my headlights on as well as my hazards so the battery is now dead. Recovery guy uses jump leads to fire it up, has a listen and decides it's knackered. Load it onto his truck and he tows me home.

Now I've got the car home and I intend to start stripping down on Wednesday but, here's the kicker. I go to lock the car sing the remote. It locks and the immediately re opens. Then it refuses to do anything until I've had the keys in teh ignition. Every time you try it just locks for a split second and then immediately re opens.

I think I might just set fire to it.

Alternatively, any advice on fixing the Central locking would be appreciated because when it comes to electrics I'm ranked in the category of "special needs"

A fully discharged battery will give all sorts of alarm & central locking problems. :(
So basically give a good go on a charger & all should be cured

Wot Bernie says, I had same issues last week. It will lock one door at a time internally and lock the drivers with the key and it is at least safe.
