Vauxhall Part cost - Side Step Plastic trim piece

Ordered Qty 20 of the plastic fastener that secures the rubber anti-slip mat to the metal side step.

Had a shock when they came in at over a £1 each with VAT. Sent 5 back and purchased 15.

These are more expensive than the bolts I had to buy for the sump guard, they were only 35p each.

I'll be treating them very carefully when i remove them, as they clearly are very valuable.

Someone suggested Halfords, anyone know what they cost there ?

I think they where less than a couple of quid a bag about 12 in each bag, they are call trim panel button halfords part HFX361 price code K.

No they are not the same. I'll post a pic later. These are Isuzu badged bits and hence why they cost so much more..... according to the parts man.

I was going from memory when I stipped my rubbers off the steps for another member, I have taken mine off.

If its an Isuzu part try an Isuzu dealer they nearly always work out cheaper as VX are not slapping their £ wedge on the item.

& Then you need 24 of them to do both sides, sounds a little expensive.

Could you not find an alturnitive part to do the job.

Thats them, fortunately I had around 15 from the last time I did it to my 97 LWB.

I used to regularly take off the mat to clear out the mud so the side steps would n't rust through. I did manage to re-use most of the plugs by pushing the middle piece through with a small drill bit.

As my current SWB looks like they have never been touched, I expect the plastic is brittle and will break ! hence why I've purchased a bunch before hand !

More than lickly made in Germany by a company call A Raymond .

Normal things like this cost a few coppers each, but with a company like Raymond you have to purchase these parts in the thousands.

Which is why Vauxhall ask top money for a small plastic rivet & clips like this, as most the will be no aftermarket demand on & these will end up in a landfill somewhere.
